MOTHERPIG - Grind Punk from Germany | http://www.myspace.com/motherpig | [Added 30/04]

What a crazy band from Bosnia-Herzegovina ! With a name like that impossible to miss this new band from a unique underground scene !!! Let\'s speak with ANALizator Cunt (all instruments) about the past and the future of MOTHERPIGS !

1. Hi, I hope you’re fine, could you speak us about your band (date of creation, place, band members….) ?
Hello, and first of all, I want to say thanks to Splattered Zone for having this interview with me! This is ANALizator Cunt, only and founding member of Motherpig. Motherpig is from Bosnia-Herzegovina, only band of this genre here, exists from 2004. I wanted Motherpig to become a live band, but since I didn\'t find anyone willing to play this kind of music, I abandoned that idea, so I am working alone, doing DIY releases, and I have no problem with it! FOREVER FUCKING UNDERGROUND!

2. Could you list your releases ; give your opinion about evolution until your newest release ?
Ok, so I released Good Ol\' Laugh Demo (selfrelease), after that came 10 Way Split called \'\'Psychodellic Porn Hellucinations\'\' that was released on Parkinson Wankfist Pleasures (Cheers, PornGore Jesus!), and now I just released \'\'Unreleased Fuck-Ups\'\', five songs that were supposed to get on my split with band Chainsaw Masturbation. It didn\'t happen, since I didn\'t have enough time to finish it. So, this latest release is online for free download at www.myspace.com/motherpig ! Go get your copy now! :)
The first demo was really harsh...noisy, and I wanted it that way...as I continued playing, many more things influenced my music, mainly crust punk and grindcore bands, and you can feel that in my songs. Death Metal Tyler gave a comment about Motherpig songs, as they are Ramones mixed with Impetigo. Couldn\'t agree more.
Ofcourse, there are few compilations my ass ended on, but these three are the main releases.

3. What are your future plans (gigs / tour, new release, .....) ?
Well, as for live appereances, nothing yet. Maybe I will do a special one time only show in future, but I am still not sure. I am planning to release a video for one of the new songs, which one it will be, I am still not sure.
As for a releases, this is 100% Year Of The Pig! Later this year, you can expect 3 splits and one full lenght album of Motherpig. Splits will be done with bands Phlegm Thrower, Leech Eater, BxOxGx and Gruuthaagy and will be released on Show Me Your Tits Records and Parkinson Wankfist Pleasures. Full Lenght album will be zombie theme oriented, it is named \'\'Brainzzz!\'\', will feature artwork from well established graphic sicko FREAK TRASH, and it will be released on PWP.

4. Could you define your own style of music you play and your main influences ?
First, I wanted it to be as much noise as possible, my first influence as ANAL CUNT, and you can see that by my nickname. Lately, I am incorporating crust punk and grindcore elements to my music. Main influences are old school death metal, crust punk and dirty production grindcore and noisecore. So call it Crust Grind, or OLD SCHOOL DEATH GRIND PUNK METAL, it doesn\'t matter...just listen to it!

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band throught the Underground Metal Scene ?
Actually, I really am. I tried to promote my music to people here in Bosnia, but they were acting like Fuck That Shit, Play Death Metal, Play Thrash Metal, Play Any Kind Of Metal. I am not into playing metal, that\'s what people don\'t understand. Playing metal is pretty difficult (if you want to do it right) and I am not feeling ok doing it. I enjoy listening to it, but playing it...not for me. I like speed, I like raw, unchained mayhem. So, I distributed my music thru MySpace, and few people are really into my music now. Got some really good reviews, people like that shit, many people are simply sick and tired of non stop no lyrics goregrind bands with porn themes. This is socially oriented music, with lyrics and attitude. Ofcourse, I add some horror and grusome details to it, but what the hell...it just intensifies the feeling.

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personnality, politics....)?
I hate fucking politics, dropping bombs on people and stuff like that. I survived one war, felt it on my skin. I don\'t have problem with e.g. war black metal bands, but I do have problem with people that want to kill people. Also, I really, and when I say really, I mean really, really hate NAZI and FASCIST assholes. Fuck \'em all, dirty fucking dogs!

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future…)?
I think that Underground scene is the same thing as Mainstream scene, just like in mainstream, you can find great music, and you can find shit. I think MySpace really helps out young bands to get connected. I can\'t understand why everyone starts a hype and hate campaign against MySpace when some jerk\'s profile gets deleted after numerous warnings when he posts dead and mutilated babies pics on it! For fuck sake, there is place and time for everything! It just shows how stupid some people are, they don\'t know how to play, they just need shock imagery to shock some more stupid people! But, overall, scene is great, and I am proud to be part of it!

8. Which bands you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene ?
Wow, if it is REALLY a fresh start, I recommend the classics like Metallica, Maiden, Motorhead...Stuff like that, especially Motorhead. But if someone wants to feel, let\'s say, what it\'s like to listen to death metal, I don\'t recommend bands like Cannibal Corpse. Instead, I recommend Pestilence, or, some new band like Death Breath. Hm...Possessed is always good for a starter. The main advice to all of people that want to discover the beautiful world of metal scene is to go back to 80\'s with their CD players.

9. What do you think about the medias throught the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...) ?
These people are doing a great, never paid enough and hard job. I myself have a radio show and webzine, its address is www.isk.int.ba , but check it out on www.myspace.com/iskwebzine if you want to get promoted. Never give up, and continue the job. I hope this part of the scene will just get bigger and bigger!

10. Thank you to answer us. It’s up to you, write what you want about anything ?
Nothing for the end, just maybe to say thanks to all of you guys playing, recording, all of you guys reviewing, listening to music, downloading, buying, labels out there, take care, special hell-o to my man PornGore Jesus from PWP, and to all the bosnian bands that keep on burning with a metal flame in their hearts (THIS SOUNDS SO GAY!:)) – also big up for a frew true grindcore fanatics from Bosnia – BHHC Slava and Co. Cheers!!!

DEADSPAWN - Brutal Death Metal from Germany | http://www.deadspawn.de | [Added 26/04]

What a good excellent underground Death Metal from Germany ! If you never heard from them, you must read this itw and discover what they feel and why they play Brutal Death Metal ! OK, let\'s speak with Philip on vocals (he play also in Blooddawn) and let the war begins !!!!

1. Hi, I hope you’re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, band member….) ?
Hi there!DEADSPAWN was founded in 1998 as a succeeding band to BONEMACHINE and PURGATORY and ist located in Mainz, Germany. After doing several rehearsals, the band decided to record their first demo entiteled „The First Strike“ in september 1998. After getting some positive response, DEADSPAWN did several gigs together with bands like MORBID ANGEL, NOCTE OBDUCTA, GORGORTH, JESTER’S FUNERAL, AMON AMARTH, REVENANT, GOD DETHRONED, BLACKENED, VENERAL, DISEASE, KRISIUN, INTO DARKNESS, LEGACY, OCCULT. In 2000 DEADSPAWN decided to record another demo which was unleashed as „The Second Coming“ and again their musical achievement gained respect throughout the underground and the band played their first festival gig in Abtsgmünd, destorying the SUMMER BREEZE 2000. Unfortunately, the band split up in 2001 due to line up problems. Still, Dave and Guido wanted to express themselves by playing thrash influenced Death Metal and therefore they started to reenact DEADSPAWN in the beginning of 2003. They were joined by Daniel, formerly playing bass in STEELHEAD and Philip, who is also the vocalist of BLOODDAWN. Together they recorded their third demo „ Slaughter Cattle“ which gained even more positive response, as reviews done by the Metalglory mag (9,5/10) or Vampster mag can tell. In 2005 DEADSPAWN was finally ready to record their debut album, entiteled „ Eradication“. After nearly 3 months of recording „Eradication“ turned out to be a huge success, receiving 7/10 from the German mags Rock Hard and metal.de or 4 out of 5 by the Blooddawn Mag. Again, the band did a lot of gigs and after a while, the german label MUSICAZ signed the band and rereleased „Eradication“ worldwide. Unfortunately, there were again line up problems and Daniel had to be replaced by Mathias. But after some months Mathias left the band as well and it took the band a while to find a suitable replacement. Finally that replacement was found in Tim in the end of 2006.

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it ?
For our releases see above. Since I only recorded « Slaughter Cattle » and « Eradication » I can only tell you my thoughts on these two releases. I really like to raw sound of our third demo, especially when listening to the sound of our debut album, which sounds pretty droopy to me. Musicwise we`re pretty satsified with the way things turned out to be, though there is obviously always space for improvement!

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
Well, at the moment things are a bit stuck, since I have some problems concerning my voice. In case everything turns out to be fine, we will record a new album at the turn of 2007/2008. But we hope to play some(lots of) gigs until then, which is sometimes a bit hard, since people don\'t seem to be that interested in brutal death metal these days.

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main influences when you write a new track ?
Our music can simply be labled as brutal fucking death metal. The main influences differ, but I think, Dave and Guido- our songwriters- are driven by hatred mostly.

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band throught the Underground Metal Scene ; do you expect to be sign by a big record label ?
Actually we are not really satsified. As I\'ve told you before, we are stuck right now, which is kind of crappy since
we are longing for gigs and stuff like that. Well, I guess we have to be patient and will hopefully be back even more brutal! A big deal? Why not, we sure could use some money, hehe! Though we would prefer a booking agency, I guess.

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personnality, governement....) ?
Mankind? I don care about mankind, though I think Guido is the guy who hates mankind most. Government sucks, business as usual, as you may imagine. Musicwise I guess a lot of things are nervewrecking, especially within the metal scene. Just thinking of some bands we played with: just a bunch of boring losers. Or some audience as well. I can\'t understand people paying for a concert and then prefer standing around and trying to look cool. Neither can I understand people who think 3(!) Euro is way too much to pay for 3 bands! But this is probably a Mainz-related thing. Most of the « metal »people here are just crappy wankers and pathetic! Who cares...

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future…) ?
Difficult to say. I guess there are some areas where things are fine: good gigs, good audience, good bands. And of course, there are areas such as the area we live in. Poor audience, poor gigs, stuff like that.People prefer going to goth clubs and pay 5 Euro in order to party with guys wearing leather skirts and fat gothic girls! In the end, I have to admit that I do not care that much about the scene, good music is important and can be found everywhere.

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene ?
Concerning Bands coming from Mainz, the only band I can recommend is Misanthropic-great Death Metal. Nocte Obducta were ok too, but they split up. And of course there is Purify, the othr band of Dave and Guido, but I\'m not sure, if they still exist! Let us not talk about the rest... In Germany in general there are some great bands such as Blooddawn(haha); Geist, Helrunar, Recapture etc. Or just take the originators: Death, Entombed, Grave, etc..

9. What do you think about the media throught the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...) ?
The internet sure has improved a lot, look how fast and cheap you are now able to communicate. MP3 and stuff like that increase you\'re chances of being heared, so that is positive as well. I myself prefer written magazines, although I work at metal.de, hehe. Everythings has positive and negative aspects, that`s life!

10. It’s up to you, write what you want about anything ?
Thanks for your interview and sorry about the delay! Cheers to Bloodawn and the « Klub »,hehe. Support your local metalbands, except for Mainz, hahah!

THE CAUTHERIZED - Death Metal from USA | http://www.thecauterized.com | [Added 12/04]

An old school US Death Metal Band, what a cool idea !!! For all fanatics of old school US DxMx, The Cauterized is for you ! Formed in 2003, they work their style and they currently playing out in the Los Angeles area, leaving audiences terrified and mesmerized at the same time... So let\'s speak with Menno (Bass/Vocals) about the band and more ...

1. Hi, I hope you’re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, band member….)?
Thank you! The Cauterized was formed at the end of 2003 by Kosuke Hashida (guitars), Martin Karlsson (drummer for Mykhorriza) and myself on bass and vocals. With two additional musicians, Greg Harrison (guitarist for Shredzilla/PDP) and Will Peebles (guest vocals), we recorded our first EP “Symphonies Of Iniquity” in 2004. Two years later after many live shows and the obligatory line-up changes, we recorded our first full length cd “Hung Be The Heavens With Black”, which just came out through Germany’s Musicaz Records.
Our current line-up is; Kosuke Hashida (guitars), Chris Velez (guitars), Milton Rodriguez (drums) and myself on bass and vocals.

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it?
We have two official releases: “Symphonies Of Iniquity” is a four song EP, which we released ourselves. It is a very raw EP, which really gives it a ‘live’ feel, it really captured the intensity of The Cauterized at that point in time. The guitars were a little underproduced, but I still enjoy listening to it.
“Hung Be The Heavens With Black” is our debut cd, 13 tracks of brutal Old School death metal. Once again the production is really raw, but of a much better quality. I think this raw sound is very fitting for a band like The Cauterized. I really enjoy playing these songs live a lot and we’ve had very good reviews from the press so far. I highly recommend it to any 90’s death metal fan!!!

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
We are currently writing songs for our second cd, which will hopefully be out towards the end of the year. I can’t give you a title yet, because we don’t have one yet!!! We are also playing a lot in Los Angeles, we just played the Los Angeles Murderfest with Obituary, Atheist and Repulsion. That was fucking awesome! Great bands and a great crowd!
We are also planning to do a European tour in the summer of 2008, so we can brutalize the European death-fans!

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main influences when you write a new track?
The Cauterized plays brutal Old School death metal. We have all been influenced by a lot of the early 90’s death and thrash metal and our music is a homage to that era. That doesn’t mean we close our minds to anything new, it’s just the way the songs come out when we write them. It is how we feel. There are a lot of bands that have influenced us, from Tampa death metal to Bay Area thrash, but also English death/grind bands like Carcass or the early Swedish scene. Brutality from all over the world, so to speak!
So when we write a song, all these influences are mixed in our brains and seep out through our fingers into our guitars. That’s the recipe for The Cauterized songs!!!

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band through the Underground Metal Scene ; do you expect to be signed by a big record label ?
We expect nothing. We do however want to get our music to as many people as possible and would like to take The Cauterized as far as possible, without having to compromise our sound. The underground has grown a lot in the last couple of years and I think a band like The Cauterized can do a lot in the underground. Our label Musicaz records has done a lot for us so far, so I’d have to say we would only sign with a bigger label if they gave us a good offer. It is no good being the small band on a big label and get no promotion/tour support, etc. because they spend all their budget on bigger bands. That would not be good for The Cauterized. Record labels are a means to an end, as long as they work as hard for us as we would work for them, I don’t really care if it’s a small or a big label.

6. Which kind of stuff you dislike (music, mankind personality, government....)?
Most of the lyrics I write for the Cauterized are more observational than judgmental in nature. I am fascinated with the history of the Catholic Church and its excesses, so a lot of songs deal with that, like the crusades (Hierosolym and The Demise Of Faith) or the Inquisition (Witch Hammer). It really amazes me that an institution that propagates peace and brotherly love has such a rich history of intolerance, ignorance and incredible violence.

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future…)?
I think it’s very good. Especially since the internet it has become a lot easier for bands all around the world to get their music heard by a lot of people worldwide. On the other hand it has become harder to sell cd’s and merch for bands in the underground, because of downloading. I don’t think downloading music for free in itself is a bad thing, but it does mean less cd sales for bands like The Cauterized and many others like us. I say support the underground, by buying underground! And if Metallica ever releases another decent cd, download it for free!!!!

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene?
There are a lot of really good local bands here in Los Angeles. Some of the underground metal bands I really enjoy are Nihilist Workshop, Lightning Swords Of Death, Abysmal Dawn and Manslaughter. They are all Los Angeles bands and you can check them all out on www.myspace.com. You might be surprised, but you won’t be disappointed!

9. What do you think about the media through the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...)?
There is so much of it nowadays it’s hard to keep up. But I think that is a good thing, there are a lot of paper zines and webzines that enable metal fans to check out new music from the underground for free. Especially the webzines reach people all over the world, so even smaller bands can build an international fanbase, without having to send demotapes or cd’s everywhere. For a band like The Cauterized that means free promotion, which is not easy to get nowadays, because the bigger magazines all want money for reviews, interviews, ads and so on. I totally support the underground media!

10. It’s up to you, write what you want about anything?
First of all I want to thank you for giving The Cauterized the opportunity to present ourselves in Splattered Zone! We appreciate it!
Secondly, check out The Cauterized debut cd “Hung Be The Heavens With Black”, available through our label Musicaz Records (www.musicaz.de) and our myspace site www.myspace.com/thecauterized. Here you can also find our latest news, showdates and (hopefully next summer) European tourdates.
Support brutality! Support The Cauterized!

SUBLIME CADAVERIC DECOMPOSITION - EXTREME Grind Gore from France | http://www.myspace.com/sublimecadavericdecomposition | [Added 10/04]

Since their first effort (split with INFECTED PUSSY in 1997) they dominate the Underground EXTREME Grind scene in France [with the mighty BLOCKHEADS)! For me S.C.D (like LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY in Holland) create a VIOLENT GORE GRIND music with a FULL FRESH Energy with Scato feelings ! Great !!! So they release à split CD with CRIPPLE BASTARDS last years, and they are proud to release a new EXTREME stuff this years (probably in may ...), so let\'s speak with Mighty Seb [vocals] about the new album...

1. Hi, I hope you’re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, band member….) ?
¤ Hi bro. The band was formed more than 11 years ago (1996). During 8 years, the line up was almost the same : Bruno (guitars/vocals), Yov (drums), Tristan (guitars/vocals) and myself Seb (vocals). I have said almost, cause during a short time Fred was the bass player of the band.
¤ 4 years ago, Bruno and Yov left the band. So we stopped the tours, gigs and festivals we planned and finally after few months, we have found the 2 newcommers needed : Dagulard (drums) and Guillaume (guitars/vocals).
Suddenly, 1 year ago Dagulard left the band for personal reasons and Dirk Verbeuren joined the band as a session member for the recording of our third full length CD.
¤ We finally find two new great guys to join the band : Bruno-JR (drums) and Fred (bass).
¤ It’s not fucking easy to keep the same line up trough the years, but sometimes it can give to the band a new blood!
Now the band really wants to take the road, so …

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it ?
During the first 8 years, we have recorded:
¤ 1 split tape with Infected Pussy (self-produced in July 1997) - It was our really beginnings. SCD is my first and only band, and we did nothing before. Necro of Infected Pussy is a real brother till 20 years and he helped us till the beginning … and today again!
¤ In 1996, I didn’t know anything about the way to make gigs, produce or distribute stuffs on the underground scene. Necro have teach us a lot of things in this time, and it was probably impossible to do it without his help!
We have created SCD, cause we were real Death / Grind fans, and we were just dreaming to do our part to this amazing friendly crazy scene! It was really impossible for us to know the way we do today with the band! On this split tape, we have recorded few songs of our first gig. This gig was amazing cause, it was on a fucking small bar in Paris called “Point Break” and many, many people were there!
We met Tristan for the first time during this gig, and just after he joined the band! I was 22 years old and probably Tristan was around 16 years old!
Bruno and Fred are brothers. When they joined the band few months ago, we told them about this gig, cause they were there, and it was the first time they heard about SCD! Fred was 18 years old, but Bruno was just 11 years old in 1996! … 11 years later they join the band, so I really think this first gig and this first split tape were the roots of the band!
¤ 1 split CD with ROT (august 1998 on the french label Bones Brigade) – Till many years, we use to go in Belgium or Netherlands to see grind gigs cause it was not too far away from Paris, and it was in this time the only way for us to see grind bands. During these gigs and festivals, we have met Nico of Bones Brigade, and many great friends who helped us to make our first gigs out of France. The deal was find by the help of Necro (Infected Pussy) … again!, he was in contact with Rot, us and Bones Brigade … really easy!! ….. This step gave to the band a real existence on the underground scene. It was not a real full length album but it was a start to open the doors of labels, zines and less confidential festivals.
¤ 1 split EP with Lymphatic Phlegm (self-produced in March 2000) – Lymphatic Phlegm asked us to make this split EP with them, our first full length CD was almost finished but it was really cool to do it with them! We have met fucking censorship problems with the original artwork cover, and we finally changed it at the last moment … but we are really happy of it. All was recorded in one day (maybe two) on a home studio, so it was really funny!
¤ 2 full length CD\'s:
First one in March 2001 on the french label Bones Brigade and second one on Osmose Productions in 2003 – It was, at this moment, the band confirmation in the underground scene and a start to be well known on the “upperground” scene. We have make a lot of interviews on fanzine, webzine, magazine, radio … make fucking great gigs, festivals and tours on Europe as on US ….
Between 1996 and 2000, the band has build the roots and work a lot to grow up, between 2000 and 2003 we got the chance to have more great opportunities than on our best dreams. It was really amazing to build something from nothing with friends and to realize that you make your dreams come true. We were really proud and happy, and it’s strange, cause the original line up changed exactly at the moment we thought nothing could be better.
Hopefully, at this time again, we worked hard and finally after many months, we have found the best musicians to replace the missing ones, and now many tours are dealing, so … (thanx a lot to Dagulard for joining the band in a really hard moment and to work with us during many months on our new full length CD. Thanx again to Dirk Verbeuren who made a fucking great job during the recording. And thanx to Severin for playing few gigs session at the last moment.)
¤ 1 split EP with Cripple Bastards, out on legendary RELAPSE RECORDS in December 2006 – It was a great opportunity to make this split EP on Relapse. All grind bands have a special interest for this label … in the History of extreme music Relapse stay a kind of Walhalla!

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
¤ 1 new and third full length CD called “INVENTORY OF FIXTURES”. It will be out on April/May 2007 on Bizarre Leprous Productions (and EveryDayHate for LP).
We never know if a new album will have success or not, particularly after 4 years of silence …. But be sure, silence for you but fucking work for us!! haha! – Really, we have never worked more on an album! (on the music as on the cover art! As on the lyrics … yes we wrote lyrics on this new stuff!!).
¤ We also prepare great festivals as SWR fest in Portugal (with Napalm Death and more…), Obscene Extreme fest, in Czech Rep. (with Brutal Truth and more …) or Mosh fest II in Poland (with Extreme Noise Terror and more…) + Tours over Australia, Europe, South America, probably US and many more … You can see last confirmed infos on www.myspace.com/sublimecadavericdecomposition

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main influences when you write a new track ?
The main influence of the band are sure the Death, Grind, Crust and Hardcore scenes. But with time, the main influence is the band itself. Now, I think the band found a real personal expression of extreme music. Each new recording is also a new start and we refuse to do exactly the same album each time. So you know, we really want to continue to try new experiences on our extreme way!
We are really "proud" of our first albums, and we don\'t try to forget it by a new direction. We will play on stage as many songs of our first CD’s as of our new album.
In fact, whatever we do, sure some people will say that it was better before, and others will say that it is different but as good as before or better than before!! ha! we will see!!

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band through the Underground Metal Scene; do you expect to be sign by a big record label ?
You know, we signed on different labels till our beginnings (Bones Brigade, Osmose, Relapse, Bizarre Leprous, EveryDayHate). Some of them are really underground, some are less underground but none of them is a big “Major”.
To be honest, the big record label fucking don’t care about our band! So, we have no question or doubt about it! We are not a big famous rock star band … we know it. And it will never arrive, our music is probably too extreme and if we wait about it, we have just to cry all our life!
We have the chance to make the music we love and to be able to record it, distribute it and to play it through the whole world!
We are really, really lucky, you know! We are fucking satisfied about the actual situation. We don’t refuse to have more, but if I have to choose, the most important is to keep what we have as long as possible! For this reason, we do our best each time and we really thanx everyone who supports us !!!

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personality, government....) ?
Shitty mainstream music and values of Rap, R’nB, …

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future…) ?
Alive, years after years! Till more than 20 years now, we have an amazing great and creative Extreme scene with legendary bands! No one win money with it. It’s just a community of fans, who have same spirit and values!
We\'ve seen it growing up during the last years in France, as in Eastern Europe, and it’s fucking great!!
It’s probably the only music where the most famous bands through the world are from Europe, States, Asia, Australia or South America indifferently! And plays everywhere with the same support! And in my opinion, it means a lot about us! I’m sure this scene will continue many and many years again, cause it’s not fashion music feeding by advertising. I also, see the come back of many legendary bands as Brutal Truth or Brujeria or maybe Terrorizer and it can give a new blood fucking interesting to our scene!!

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene ?
Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Brujeria, Carcass, Disrupt, …..

9. What do you think about the media through the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...) ?
Most of music needs mainstream medias to be seen and heard. Extreme music scene don’t need TV or mass media cause, as I said before, our scene is really alive cause most of fans plays in a band, makes a zine, arranges gigs or makes a label of distro or prod!
We are just a part of our scene as you are yourself, so thank you to give me the opportunity to tell you how many it’s important for an underground band as SCD to have the support of all our fans (sure) but also the support of all fanzines, magazines, webzines, radios, ... Thank you all!

10. It’s up to you, write what you want about anything?
I see a lot of people coming on our myspace page till 6 months and many give us messages to support us. Thanx a lot bro!

BLOODDAWN - Brutal Death from Germany | http://www.blooddawn-metal.de | [Added 30/03]

A \'not really\' known band from the TRUE German underground scene ! I\'ve never heard their demo tape, but I were very happy to make a review (!!!) on it. So let\'s speak with Christian U. (guitar) and Philip (vocals) to discover this band ...

1. Hi, I hope you’re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, band member….) ?
Philip: Hi! Thanks, we are fine. Well, Blooddawn was founded in 2000 by Alexander(drums), Christian U.(guitars) and Philip(vox). In 2003 we`ve added a second guitarist called Christian G. and changed our bassplayer. The current line up is: Alexander-Drums / Christian G.: Guitars / Christian U. : Guitars / Hanni:Bass / Philip; Vocals

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it ?
Philip: Since we are pretty lazy guys and due to the line up changes and monetary problems, we\'ve only released one demo called « Kill or be Killed » It contains 7 songs, mostly highspeed yet with some groovy parts, too. We are pretty satsified with this release since it helped us spreading the name Blooddawn throughout the German underground!

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
Christian: Well, we are about to sign a deal with the polish label Mad Lion Records and thereby we are hopefully going to release our debut album in autumn 2007. Concerning gigs, we are going to play two gigs with the German black metal horde GRABAK on the 8th and 9th of june. This is it, since we want to concentrate on rehearsing for the recording of the debut which has main priority at the moment !

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main influences when you write a new track ?
Philip: Well it is hard to say what of kind of music we play since we are all pretty different characters in the band. The others listen to a lot of Death and Thrash metal (the only way metal should sound like-Christian) while Hanni, who is also into classical music, and me like Black Metal pretty much. I guess in the middle of all these styles you may find Blooddawn. In the end it is just about playing metal the way we like it most and having a good time !
Christian: It is all about kicking some ass and boozing- metal in its purest way!

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band throught the Underground Metal Scene ; do you expect to be sign by a big record label ?
Philip:Yes, I guess we are pretty satsified. It took us a while to get up our asses but right now everything seems to work out fine: the upcoming album, a label, good distribution..we are quite optimistic.
I guess there is no chance for a band like Blooddawn to sign at a big label since we are not willing to work the way they would want us work. We write songs and play gigs if we want to not if we have to! So I think we are pretty happy being on a smaller label where we can do what we want!

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personnality, governement....) ?
Philip: hu, I guess it is hard to answer that question since all in the band like/dislike different things. I personally don\'t care that much on problems of humanity and stuff like that. Not because I hate them, simply because I only take care of people I like and personally know and I guess the others think alike! We are all interested in politics, if you mean that by government, still this has nothing to do with Blooddawn and is more like an interest everybody has, or at least should have! Concerning the music- I don\'t like Death Metal that much ( IDIOT-Christian) !

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future…) ?
Philip:Hm, actually we don\'t know that much about an international underground scene, since we only used to play in Germany until now. So I can only speak about the German scene which is, I guess, like every other european scene. A few good bands, a lot of crappy bands. Especially these god damn pagan bastards are just a huge pain in the arse. they should go and hug some trees instead of writing shitty music, using loads of keyboards...WOTAN(don\'t let him know-Christian); WOTAN....Fuck off! Beer instead of Wotan! About the future: I guess we\'ll mainyl concentrate on our own future which is more important to us instead of looking at other crappy bands!
Christian: Concerning these Wotangays: real metalheads don`t give a shit on these wankers, so who cares anyway?

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene ?
Philip: First of all I have to recommend RECAPTURE, who are friends of us and who play great death metal. I also have to recommend Deadspawn(since the others would kill me, if not). Actually these are the only bands that currently cross my mind!
Christian: I would like to add Trimonium(ah, forgot about them-Philip), Defloration, Purgatory and my alltime faves- Down Below, hahah!

9. What do you think about the media throught the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...) ?
Philip+Christian: Of course netmags are important these days since news and stuff like that can be spread pretty fast, thanks to the internet. Still, I also like printed mags, just for the good old feelinmg(hehe, sounds as if I am 30,haha)

10. It’s up to you, write what you want about anything ?
Thanks for your interest and the interview! Cheers to FIETHOR; KOMA und all die anderen Zerbster Assis, RECAPTURE, Prezmek and Mad Lion and to Beer!
Hail to the chimp! [www.blooddawn-metal.de] / [www.myspace.com/metallicwarfare]

GORYPTIC - Brutal Death from France | http://www.goryptic.com | [Added 30/01]

GORYPTIC, what a killer underground Brutal Death Band !!! Active in the entire French scene, this band grows up day after day, so we MUST ask them what they wish for this new year !!!! Let\'s speak with Guyom (drums) ...

1. Hi, I hope you?re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, band member?.) ?
Hi to all & thanks for this intie. Goryptic is born in September 2005 and is composed by Ugo (Guitar), Dam (Vocals), Jon (Bass) and me (Drums).

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it ?
With Goryptic, we only released a 2 track promo CD in December 2005 so a couple of months after the creation of the band.
This stuff played its role and enabled us to get lot of reviews and spread a little bit our music. We got good feedbacks and thus we decided to work on a full length.

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
First of all, the release of our first full length entitled From Blast To Collapse in a couple of weeks; it contains 10 tracks and one bonus and lasts about 39 minutes. As it?s an autoproduction and 100% DIY, we gonna have lot of work to promote it but it?s a very interesting & rewarding experience. It has been recorded and mixed at the Studio3x8 in the North of France and mastered at the Imperial Mastering by Colin Davis.
About the gigs, we will feature at the last edition of the Soul Grinding Fest which is a fucking honour and share the stage with Inhumate, Emeth, Infest and so one. Then we will play in Holland at the Braindead Fest with Godless truth and many more will come I hope!

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main influences when you write a new track ?
I?d say Goryptic is a Brutal death band with some mosh parts and complex structures. The best is to have a listen on www.goryptic.com or on www.myspace.com/goryptic and to make your own opinion. A brand new track from the album is available! Our main influences are Goratory, Dying Fetus, Skinless, Spawn of Possession and many more.

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band throught the Underground Metal Scene ; do you expect to be sign by a big record label ?
We do not expect anything you know. We play music and spend time to write stuff, to promote, just because we like that. We like playing live, meeting people, having fun with ?em, sharing the stage. It?s not a question of money. If it was, we wouldn?t play this kind of music for sure. Maybe one day we will sign a big or not deal with a label but it?s not our priority.
Some bands are the proof that you can exist without having a label behind you. The first one which comes in my mind is Inhumate. More than 15 years and they?re still here, stronger than ever, sicker than ever.

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personnality, governement....) ?
I dislike lot of stuff as everyone. Of course we are against racism, fascism and all those stuff which can rank the mankind behind brainless animals. The fact is that our tracks don?t broach these subjects; we?re not politically engaged in our music.

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future?) ?
There is an amazing scene. Each day news bands come up with lot of talent. The underground doesn?t stop to rise! In france, we have a really good scene and we have to export it more and more.

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene ?
In france: Trepan?Dead, Inhumate, Blockheads, Recueil Morbide, Infest, Disgust and many more.
In the rest of the world: Skinless, Goratory, Dying Fetus and so one.

9. What do you think about the media throught the underground scene (paper magazine, webzine, distribution...) ?
They are well represented in France: Bestial experience, la part d?ombre, In extremis? They do all a great job and the support the Underground. Thanks to ?em, each band is sure to get some reviews and sometimes Interviews even if they send a CDr with a shitty sound. Not all the bands get the chance to record in a professional studio cos it costs lot of money but usually webzines and so one takes this into account and all the same support them.

10. It?s up to you, write what you want about anything ?
Well thanks again for this interview and thanks to the readers who took some time to get some news about us or just to discover us. As I said, we release our first full length so to people interested for buying it, just contact us via the website or myspace or catch us in a gig!! C you on stage!! MASTIC SCUM - Grindcore from Austria | http://www.masticscum.com | [Added 21/12]

Since I\'ve heard their split with BLOCKHEADS, I\'m a very very big fan of this band ! Fresh they play fast GRINDCORE with several great MOSH parts ! Really a big actors of the underground scene via split EP, festivals and live shows, a new CD containing all their tracks for EP\'s available next year... So, let\'s speak with Will (vox) to have his point of view ...

1. Hi, I hope you\'re fine, could you describe your band (date of creation, bandmember..) ?
The band is running since 1992. Fucking long time ago! We started as a deathmetal band influenced by death-trashmetal and hc-punk bands from the 80\'s. We`re still doing a strong line up - I`m on voc. Harry on guit. and Man drums just the bass situation is chanching sometimes. Mastic Scum started with ?Linga? over to ?Steff? then to ?Alex? and now is ?Much? on sub-end. Whatever we\'re still in good contact to all ex-members and thats important.

2. Could you list your releases, and give your opinion about it ?
I think each release stay for his own and as you can see there\'s a concept since 95 with the names for the releases. There is a kind of progression in songwriting and in the production, the band in getting better and better, there are new influences and new inspirations but it?s still Mastic Scum.

New CD ?The EPs Collection 1993-2002? to be out in May 2007. For more details watch at masticscum.com

3. What are your future plans (gig, new release, .....) ?
to stay clean, to play gigs and tours regular - shooting new videos and a new album should come 07/08, oh yes and 2007 the compilation mastic scum 1992-2002 all the 7\'\' and 12\'\'...... will getting out. great isn\'t it?!

4. Could you define your own kind of music you play and your main
Influences when you write a new track ?
I think we\'re in a kind of deathmetal with some grindcore elements but with tons of groove for a good mix. There is no main influence just good music in generel to the band cause all the members are to different to bring it on a point. There are so much influences and inspirations, lot of riffs and structures, it has to be put together in Mastic Scum style, sometimes is running fast sometimes it takes a while but I think we always come to a point. At the time we are very encouraged writing new stuff, lots of fucking heavy stuff and also blastbeats as well.

5. Are you satisfied about the actual situation of your band throught the Underground Metal Scene; do you expect to be sign by a big record label ?
we\'re happy about the situation these days ? just good critics for our last album ,,mind\'\'! Up and downs inside the band, but thats natural and we\'re in good contact with some labels for the next album. should coming 07 or 08. For details it\'s to early - sorry. No strong attitude no strong band.

6. Which kind of stuffs you dislike (music, mankind personnality, governement....) ?
For sure we like ,,musick\'\'. the mankind is definitely the worst thing for mother earth and goverments and politics are like the devil. but what can i say - it is actually a good place to stay here in Austria it`s like a small paradise. we are lucky.

7. What do you think about the International underground Extreme Metal scene (actually, future.) ?
The worldwide music scene is the ultimate drug that doesn\'t destroy you! you can embrace this music and use it for so many good reasons. It can get you through life without you having to bow to all those other pressures. One gift we have is sharing this music. It\'s good to know that our music is the alternative to what hell every one else call ,,music\'\' we \'re the children of the underworld and we can\'t deny that we\'re always going to be connected to the underground. don\'t fell bad about being fucking part of a rejected group - feel good about it ! I do.

8. Which band you recommended for a new fan would discover this Metal scene?
Belphegor, Pungent Stench, Disastrous Murmur, Collapse 7 and fur sure Mastic Scum to tell you just some great bands from Austria!

9. What do you think about the media throught the underground scene (papermagazine, webzine, distribution...)?
The most reporters or journalists that i know are pretty good cause they are fans of the music scene. But media is actually business and business is looking not always for the real thing in life. business is looking for money. Media is were the money is. Check out Arising Realm magazine and cool web stuff: http://www.earshot.at and http://www.deathmetal.at

10. It\'s up to you, write what you want about anything ?
Greed and ignorance keeping us under control? I say no. Fight against. Think about what\'s happening around you. Let start today, today is the day. it\'s in our hands to listen and to act . We gotta act we fuckin move we gotta wake up. Up the horns and good luck for all you in France. Check out our upcoming album ?The EPs Collection 1993-2002? out in Spring 07 and also check: www.masticscum.com. Cheers Will.
